Dr. Angelia Nelson

Dr. Angelia Nelson has 25 years of work experience in education and more than 15 years in higher education. Nelson holds a bachelor's degree in Physical Education from Elizabeth City State University (1998), a master's degree in Physical Education from Florida A & M University (1990) and a doctorate in Physical Education (1999) from Florida State University. Dr. Nelson holds a particular interest in teaching Sport Management. While in graduate school, Dr. Nelson worked as a paid NIKE intern with the Black Women in Sport Foundation. She is a former women's basketball coach and Senior women's administrator at Tuskegee University. In addition, Dr. Nelson invested twelve years as the Executive Director of the Dawn Staley Foundation, a non-profit organization for inner-city girls in Philadelphia. She has served as a board member for a number of community and corporate organizations.
